How will I receive the image downloads I’ve purchased?
For those without an annual subscription: After your payment is complete, the site will take you to a page that includes a link to the image download. The site will also automatically send an email to the address associated with your purchase; this email will contain a link to a page where you can download your image(s). If you don’t find this email shortly after completing your purchase, please check your spam folder to see if it was snagged there. (Gmail users: Gmail sometimes sends this email to a folder outside the primary inbox, typically marked Social or Promotions; doing an email search of the term “Jan Richardson Images” can bring the email to light if it’s landed outside your primary inbox.) If you still don’t find the email, please contact us, and we’ll be glad to help!
I’ve purchased an annual subscription. How do I download images?
After you’ve logged into your account, choose any image you would like and click the green “Download Now” button. Your image will automatically be downloaded.
Are there any restrictions on my use of the images that I download?
The Jan Richardson Images site makes Jan’s artwork easily accessible for use in worship, education, and related settings. We’re happy to be in conversation about other uses that require specific permission. Please visit Guidelines for Use for more info.
How do I credit Jan’s artwork?
Wherever you use one of Jan’s images, we ask that you include this credit line:
Title of artwork © Jan Richardson. janrichardson.com
If you are projecting an image, it is not necessary to include the credit line with the image. If it is possible to include it in printed form (for instance, in a worship bulletin), that would be great.
May I create an art print from one of Jan’s images?
We ask that you do not create art prints from any image. We are pleased to offer art prints of the images on this site and would be delighted to send you any that you would like. To place an art print order, choose the “Art Print” option on the image’s page.
If you would like a large-format print of any of Jan’s images—for instance, for a church or conference setting—we are happy to be in conversation about this. Please contact us for permission and include a brief description of how you would like to use the image(s).
I’d like to use Jan’s artwork for a book, banner, magazine, journal, devotional booklet, t-shirt, CD cover, greeting card, publicity material, logo… May I do this?
We love to receive these inquiries! They do fall outside the uses granted by this website, so we would welcome receiving your direct inquiry regarding these or any other uses not covered by the guidelines. Please use this permission request form on Jan’s primary website.
If I purchase an annual subscription, may I continue to use a downloaded image after the year is up?
Purchasing an annual subscription enables you to download as many images as you’d like in the course of a year, and to use them as many times as you’d like, within the guidelines. The right to use the image expires along with the subscription. (And, honestly, the images spoil and go all stinky after the expiration date.) If you’d like to reuse an image after your annual subscription has expired, we’d be thrilled for you to renew your subscription or to download the image for the per-image fee.
If I purchase a subscription, are there any other fees I will encounter when downloading from the site?
Nope! An annual subscription allows you full access to download any images on our site at no further charge for normal use.
What format are the photos in?
All images are in a high-resolution JPG format at 300 ppi.
I’d like to sign up for an annual subscription but the fee is beyond the resources of my church (or other nonprofit group). Can you work with me on this?
We are pleased to make Jan’s artwork available to nonprofit communities that may not be able to afford an annual subscription. Please send us a brief note, and we’ll be happy to work with you.
